Winter grey

It's been pretty grey these last few days in NOVA, but I can't complain too much.  I've been feeling a bit lazy these days and I'm happy that Jack can play so well in the same room with me but not "need" me constantly.  He is so much fun these days.  We are really loving this stage.  He is full of chatter, pretty much non stop.  My heart swells with pride that he speaks en espaƱol!  I keep telling myself that I know it will get harder, but I've been at it for a year and it truly has become second nature to me.  I feel glad that John is so supportive and also speaks a lot of Spanish to Jack.  Naturally, he will learn English-- he is surrounded by it!  But my goal for this child is to provide the same building blocks that my parents did for me.  If I can keep my efforts up at home and beyond, a strong foundation in Spanish will be provided for Jack and his brother or sister. (Coming soon!) What I would absolutely love to see is for Jack to communicate in Spanish with his sibling. This would really warm my heart! Time, effort, and dedication to the task at hand will tell.
